Cure SMA would like to thank the Fighting for Kaiden Foundation for their generous donations to our equipment pool and research programs. The foundation’s generosity will provide support and hope to all those effected by SMA.
The foundation recently donated two large size 2 EASyS strollers, one small size 1 EASyS stroller, and two large boxes of assorted items for Cure SMA’s newly diagnosed care package program. The donated equipment and care package items have already been distributed to families across the country, and will help in the activities that make up their daily lives.
Additionally, the foundation graciously donated $15,000 to support research.
The Fighting for Kaiden Foundation was started by the Defazio family, in honor of Kaiden, who has SMA type I. The foundation brings together Kaiden’s family, friends, and supporters through events and fundraisers. The majority of funds recently donated by the foundation were raised at an August 2016 gala in Annapolis, MD. The Defazio family is also involved with Cure SMA’s Cheseapeake Chapter, and support the annual Gala of Hope for Kamdyn’s Kure and the Chesapeake Chapter Walk-n-Roll.
Our thanks again to the Fighting for Kaiden Foundation and to the foundation’s incredible supporters and donors.
Cure SMA Equipment Pool
Through our equipment pool, Cure SMA loans necessary medical equipment free of charge. In the last year, we lent out nearly 300 pieces of equipment, thanks to the support of generous donors like the Defazio family and the Fighting for Kaiden Foundation.
