Cure SMA would like to thank the Luke 18:1 Foundation for their generous donations to our equipment pool and research programs. The foundation’s generosity will provide support and hope to all those affected by SMA.
The Luke 18:1 Foundation was started by Nicole and Daniel Stickane in honor of their son Luke who was diagnosed with SMA type I. The foundation brings together Luke’s family, friends, and supporters through fundraising events such as Links 4 Luke, their signature golf event. Through their incredible fundraising efforts, the foundation has generously donated $100,000 to Cure SMA!
Cure SMA is thrilled to have received a generous $50,000 to fund brand new equipment to add to our equipment pool in addition to funding items that have long waiting lists. These new equipment items include the Splashy portable bath seat, Special Tomato Soft Touch Liners, Firefly Playpak portable activity kits and Firefly GoTo Floor Sitters.
Due to the high demand for Panthera pediatric lightweight wheelchairs, the foundation has also generously funded 15 Panthera’s to help fulfill many of the requests for those currently on the waiting list. These specific chairs cost $6,000+ each and are not usually covered by insurance so they are a large out of pocket expense for many families.
Additionally, the foundation graciously donated $50,000 to support SMA research.
Our thanks again to the Luke 18:1 Foundation and to all of their incredible supporters and donors. Cure SMA is incredibly grateful for your support.
Cure SMA Equipment Pool
Through our equipment pool, Cure SMA loans necessary medical equipment free of charge. Last year Cure SMA loaned out 230 pieces of equipment, thanks to the support of generous donors like the Luke 18:1 Foundation.
