Cure SMA's Fall 2024 Walk-n-Roll events are open! By participating in our Walk-n-Roll, you can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by SMA.

What is Walk-n-Roll

Walk-n-Roll is a nationwide community fundraising and awareness event. Think of this celebratory environment almost like a block party just for the SMA community.

There are games and activities, music, light refreshments, and community celebrations for fundraising efforts and the progress we have seen for the spinal muscular atrophy community as a result.

The actual Walk-n-Roll portion of our event is much more ceremonial than a typical 5k! The routes vary by location but are typically one mile, with opportunities to adapt or turn back as needed.

Registration for the event is free, fundraising is encouraged but not required and everyone is welcome!

Connect With Your Local SMA Community

Cure SMA Walk-n-Roll gives you the opportunity to get connected with the SMA community and meet others who know what it's like to deal with SMA. Whatever your connection to SMA is you will quickly realize you are not alone and that the SMA community and Cure SMA are here to help and support you.

It means everything to us to have a family like the SMA community. Other families are always trying to extend their hand or give advice. It is an amazing thing. We love our SMA family.” - Steven Hoskin

For us, being part of the community means we are not alone. SMA can be scary and may feel isolating. But knowing there are others out there like us—and drawing upon their support, knowledge, and experience—is truly life changing. I don’t like to think about what our lives would be like without Cure SMA.” - Nick Farrell

Support Your SMA Community

Walk-n-Roll is a fundraising event designed to help Cure SMA better support the SMA community through:

Just listen to what the SMA community has to say about the importance of fundraising:

“If it weren't for Cure SMA, we might not have the treatments in place that have helped my daughter to thrive while living with SMA. I'll forever be grateful and do what I can to support CureSMA and the walk-n-roll events.”

Raising awareness of SMA. Losing my beautiful grandson to this genetic disorder is my motivation to do anything I can to help find a cure.

We fundraise because of all the support we have received from Cure SMA since our daughter's diagnosis. We want to make sure other families going through a diagnosis receive the same support and guidance that we did.”
